OutKast is a rap Supergroup that consists of Andre 3000 and Big Boi. Recently Big Boi came out with his first solo album "Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty". Big Boi's mixtape, "Big Boi's Mixtape For Dummies: Guide to Global Greatness" which came out earlier this year had one track that showed up on the actual album which was titled "Shutterbug". Click for the video which is GREAT. Now, only a week or so before the release of the album Big Boi gave us a quick taste with one track titled "Shine Blockas".

Almost immediately the song was past around indie music blogs and Mp3 sites which only added to the hype. It stands, as of right now, on my "Best of 2K10 List". It's that good. Oh and there is a sample used in the song where you can find HERE.

New Design, Sampling, and FUR

As you may have noticed I have changed up the site a little bit. It is easier to read and thanks to a little thing called StreamPad, if you venture your mouse down to the bottom of the page you can listen to all of the linked tracks that I supply to you in a nice list.

But I want to talk about sampling. Sampling is, for those who don't know, when an artist uses a part of another song in their song. It is used in many Hip-Hop tracks and is used by artists such as, Kanye West, Washed Out, Neon Indian, Lil Wayne etc. But one specific band, Animal Collective, uses multiple samples throughout their albums. *Let me just say that Animal Collective is the most important band of my childhood. They are the ONLY band that can give me moments where I feel bad for other people that have not experienced what I have experienced with their music.* On their latest EP "Fall Be Kind" AnCo has a song titled "Graze". Tell me what you think about the sample in the song.
